In the economic downturn, the debt collection industry has gotten more and more aggressive.

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

What would you do if you wound up on the hook for a debt you didn’t even owe and your wages got garnished? This unfortunate scenario happened two times to a New Mexico woman who had no connection to the Target Bank account or to the collectors employed by Target. Because the debt buying industry has grown in leaps and bounds since the 1980′s, cases like this are becoming more and more common. Although technological advances and an increase in the size of debt buyer firms have created a more profitable industry, the industry also holds the record for having the highest number of complaints filed against them with the Federal Trade Commission. Trying To Reason With Credit Card Collections

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

Calling a credit card collections department was probably the worst idea that I’ve had in a while. It was almost a complete waste of time from my perspective. The only thing that helped save the phone call from being completely pointless is that the account isn’t going to be sent to a debt collection agency. Friday, December 16th, 2011

When a consumer accrues an enormous quantity of debt there will always a debt collector knocking on his or her door when the tab is not paid on time. This reality raises a red flag for me when I realize that every four years a nicely dressed politician talks big about eradicating the national debt and what we as a people can do to eliminate debt completely. With the ever increasing debt of the country it is hard to say where exactly the country will be in the next twenty years. My guess is that there are two prospects. The first possibility would be the country would find itself in an idealistic heavenly state and second, the country would remain in debt and then find is way down the proverbial tubes.

Thanksgiving Night

Friday, December 16th, 2011

It was Thanksgiving diner, and the whole family was convened around the table preparing themselves to chow down the plump turkey that was the centerpiece of the feast. Can you not see the place settings, all of the food stacked up high on the table as if this was to be the last feast of the year. The sweet potatoes, the turkey stuffing, the gravy and the corn! Oh the appearance was something to see, and can you also not smell the heavenly fragrance of the foods that are being prepared still?
