At one time or another all of us have been stressed by a bill collector. Nobody is perfect and sometimes we forget to pay or fall behind on payments on credit cards, mortgages, cars, medical bills, or other circumstances involving bills. Then, we get that feared letter or telephone call. For the most of people these calls can become a nuisance by their creditors. Like telemarketers, creditors can be really annoying with these collection calls but there is a way out.

Trying To Reason With Credit Card Collections

Sunday, January 1st, 2012

Calling a credit card collections department was probably the worst idea that I’ve had in a while. It was almost a complete waste of time from my perspective. The only thing that helped save the phone call from being completely pointless is that the account isn’t going to be sent to a debt collection agency. It made me wonder if this is a difficulty that other people run in to. Are the debt collectors so focused on what they need that they are unlikely to compromise?

Animated Debt Recovery: Why A Cartoon Can’t Be A Collection Lawyer

Sunday, December 25th, 2011

I wonder how the world of cartoons handles debt recovery. Who would do the debt recovery and who would be a collection lawyer? If there any characters that could be mixed up with debt recovery it would probably be Donald Duck and Squidward from Spongebob. I can picture Donald Duck on the phone trying to call the degenerates that refuse to pay their bills on time and attempting to extract information from the delinquent. Squidward is a slimy character that could easily depict some third rate lawyer whose bar exam score is just bordering the qualifying passing score. Dressed in a rather cheap suit and looking incredibly untidy, Squidward would definitely be a collection lawyer by default.

Can I Borrow Your Credit Card? How A Drum Set Got me Into Small Claims

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

When I was younger I had no knowledge what it meant to have a credit card. I would max out the credit card at all times and just pay it off whenever the capital came my way. The real lesson that came to me about the responsibility of credit was when I had spent money on a drum set for a friend. I know what you are thinking. Why would you use your credit card to buy a friend a drum set, you idiot? The drum set was for a corporation that he and I started as a way to make money promoting bands. It turns out I was an idiot and that my friend declined to pay me his half for the drum set. The result of this disloyalty would bring us to small claims court and no closer to clearing my credit card of its debt.

A Basic Intro To Debt Collection

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

It is a difficult task to get a struggling business to pay you. The fact that you are rightfully owed this money isn’t always enough to push the debtor to repayment. There is also the possibility that you are not the only account that is awaiting payment. Sometimes debtors will only pay one creditor at a time because they are struggling and you may be pushed aside. The key is to get your account to be the priority.

Good vs. Bad Debt: Avoid The Credit Card Collection Agency Blues

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

So the other day I spent some time on Free Credit Score’s website, making sure that I didn’t have any bad debt and in suspense that a credit card collection agency wasn’t planning on raiding my bank account. While investigating the option of bad debt I discovered that I have an outstanding credit score of 738 across the board! Not bad for a chap with no job and maxed out credit cards. I think that if I continue to max out Visas and don’t find a job soon I will have a credit card collection agency banging at my door waving a pitch fork and flaming torch. Needless to say I was thrilled.
